David Laird Associates was formed in 1960 with the goal of becoming the premier land surveying, civil engineering, and land development services provider in Western Pennsylvania. Some of the company records acquired during this time include the records of ACME Engineers, McManus Engineering, The Supplee Engineering Company, Lawrence Utterback, Owen Richardson, Tom Cavanaugh, Robert Sidman, Joseph Conrath, A.N. Aitken, and Charles Cranch. The accumulation of these records, some of which date back to the 1870’s, has helped David Laird Associates establish the most extensive library of surveying and engineering projects in Northwestern Pennsylvania.
