The whole space was designed around the antique bar that was imported and restored. We incorporated bold maple stained woodwork and trim to match and enhance this unique piece. The hosts and guests have the ultimate comfort and joyful experience with heated tile floor throughout, watching a game on a large projection screen and/or enjoying the relaxing view of the wood burning fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen is equally as entertaining and spacious. Nearby through double sliding french doors children can play video games, make crafts or dance in front of wall to wall mirrors with ballet bar on padded flooring for added safety. Owners of this Foxwood Estates custom home desired a fourth bedroom guest suite with bath to be installed in the existing large attic space. Existing framing was reinforced. A new framing shell, walls and vaulted ceilings to follow the existing roof line was constructed. Foam insulation was used on the walls and new ceiling framing to create an actual igloo independent of the existing roof structure. The existing second floor hall was enlarged to create a hall to the new space seamlessly blending the additional banister. Four foot French doors were installed into the new hall to allow a bright open feeling that was not there originally. The homeowners truly changed where they live without changing their address. |
