Welcome to the Builder's Association's 2007 Awards of Excellence!
The Awards of excellence is an annual competition sponsored by the
Builders Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania. Association members
are invited to submit their best work from the past year and subject
it to evaluation by a team of judges who are industry professionals
(builders, designers, craftsmen) from outside our region and from
as far away as Pittsburgh and Youngstown, Ohio. Each entry is scrutinized
and evaluated in a number of areas of craftsmanship, curb appeal,
design and the overall value of the project. Entries in the remodeling
categories were judged on the quality of construction/design, the
degree of difficulty in the project and the sensitivity to the existing
structure.
A team of judges scored each project and all entries had to
score a minimum number of points to receive an award. Consequently,
there could not necessarily be an award presented in all categories.
In some cases there were multiple awards in some categories. In some
cases there were multiple awards in some categories, based on different
price ranges. An award winner with a perfect score of 200 points
received “Best of Show” honors.
If an entry did not win an award in the competition, it was not
a question of quality. It simply meant that as compared to other
projects entered, it did not meet the established guidelines for
an award in this competition.
We were impressed with the excellence of the more than 31 entries
in this year’s competition and we congratulate all the winners
on their accomplishments. We hope you enjoy the following photos
and descriptions of these wining entries. The members of the Builders
Association of Northwestern Pennsylvania subscribe to the highest
standard of quality and customer service. If you have a building
or remodeling need, please remember, “When you want the Best,
hire a member!”.
Sincerely,

Glenn Cessna; Cessna Construction
